Verimpact joins sustainability event at UNESCO Conference in the UAE

Verimpact participated as a speaker in an official parallel event at the UNESCO World Conference on Arts and Cultural Education held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on 13-15 February 2024.

Focused on the critical theme of “Cultural and Artistic Education for a Sustainable Future,” the discussions at the event aimed to foster a dynamic and interdisciplinary dialogue, leveraging the diverse expertise of the speakers, which included Tobias Biancone (President of the ITI UNESCO Network), Ahmed al Mukhaini (Advisor at Office of the President for Capital Market Authority of Oman), Makis Spiratos (Business Development Director at Polygreen Middle East), Spyros Kouvelis (Senior Associate at University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and Senior Advisor at Verimpact), and Christina Deligianni (Managing Director at Verimpact). The goal was not only to promote innovative discussions but also to share tangible experiences from the fields of sustainability and culture.

The first panel focused on the professional dimensions of the topic, examining how cultural institutions can integrate sustainability policies across various areas of their operations. The second discussion addressed the public sphere, exploring effective strategies for broad public engagement and actions for environmental sustainability. This holistic approach aimed to bridge the gap between professional practices and public awareness, thereby enhancing the impact of the arts and culture towards a sustainable future. The event was organized by the EPLO Institute for Sustainable Development in collaboration with the International Theatre Institute (ITI) and the Culture for Causes Network (C4C).
