On 22 October 2024, Verimpact’s Managing Director Christina Deligianni and Chairman Spyros Kouvelis were in Athens for the 25th edition of Prodexpo, the annual conference that brings together the top voices in Real Estate to discuss the latest trends shaping the future of the industry.
Christina was invited to moderate a panel on Net Zero with Yannis Daskalakis from Daskalakis & Associates P.C, Matthew Black from World Green Building Council and Nikolas Nikolopoulos from ASHRAE as the speakers.
Their conversation shed light on the challenges that real estate developers face in aligning with net zero policies, and how emerging technologies paired with regulatory frameworks and policy incentives can better support the industry to adopt environmentally conscious strategies.
Spyros was part of another panel focused on marinas, and their role in upscaling Mediterranean destinations. As Board Member of Mission Ocean, Spyros highlighted how this European initiative is working towards restoring and protecting our oceans through research and innovation, citizen engagement and and blue investments, and the role our waters play in achieving climate neutrality and restoring nature.
“Marinas are an integral part of the Mission, as they help to minimize pollution and restore ecosystems through new materials in infrastructure; it’s also important to stress the social impact that marinas have, providing sustainable livelihoods for the communities involved,” Spyros explained.
The 'New Marinas' panel was chaired by Athena Economou from Karatzas & Partners, and alongside Spyros it also included 4 other speakers: Dimitris Politis from HRADF, George Vernicos from SETE - Greek Tourism Confederation, Stavros Katsikadis from LAMDA Development S.A. and Konstantinos Mitsios from Astir.
We’d like to express a heartfelt thank you to Tsomokos Communications and the Prodexpo team for having us. We hope to join this initiative again next year!
